Remember the FLIR One Thermal Imaging Camera? The second generation thermal imaging camera does not require you to use a case to attach it to your phone. That means you can connect it to any device with the right port. The iOS version has already been released. It connects to your phone’s Lightning port and provides you with infrared thermal imagery and non-contact temperature measurement.
The device has a built-in battery, so it does not affect your phone’s battery. The companion app has thermal panorama and thermal timelapse features. Here are the specs:
- Scene temperature range: -4°F to 248°F
- Battery capacity: 350 mA/h
- Camera: VGA
- Sensitivity: differences as small as 0.18° F
- Compatibility: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5/5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and later
Sets you back $249.99 at the time of this writing. The Android version will make its debut later.
