The PhantomX Hexapod is a pretty special robot. It has a completely hackable design that makes it particularly useful to educator and learners. The robot has 3 degree-of-freedom legs, an Arduino-compatible robo-controller, and open source software. It gives you wireless Xbee control via PC or a handheld device.
User reneca has put up a video that shows how this robot can be controlled using a regular controller or a handheld device like an iPad. All the project files are available on GitHub.
